Red Legs: Red Legs launched from the Grand Rapids music scene in mid-2013 with their first official EP The Take All. Their sprawling rock and increasingly active calendar over the next year garnered them attention from magazines like Revue and Recoil, the latter of which naming them the “#1 artist to watch in 2015.”

The group didn’t take it lightly, entering RiverCity Studios in the spring of 2015, releasing their debut full-length Influencer to a sold out show in Grand Rapids that June. MLive wrote that the album was “…a new step for Red Legs…veering away from edgier rock and stepping into more melodic territory with soaring guitars and sweeping instrumental backups.”

Vocalist/guitarist Logan Bailey’s lyrics cover topics ranging from Charles Dickens and Michigan (“Copperfield & Roses” , “Lake Country”), to personal reflections on adulthood and mortality (“White Sheets”, “Cashew”). “The goal is to try and connect with as many people as possible,” drummer Tim O’Connor said. “We try to write music that can inspire emotions and thoughts, but also reflect the story the words are already telling.” O’Connor and new bassist Vinny Navaroli make up the rhythm section, brining in a bombastic but clear style on percussion and bass.

Having played numerous venues like the House of Blues in Cleveland, The Orbit Room, The Intersection, and numerous West Michigan hotspots, the alt-rock band has emerged as one of the champions of the Grand Rapids music scene.

Lipstick Jodi: Lipstick Jodi is a one of a kind four piece indie/rock/lofi band including Karli Morehouse on guitar/lead vocals, Luke Rockhold on drums/vocals, Jamie Baarman on keys/vocals, and Camille Hoorn on bass. We call our sound “the lesbian love child of St. Vincent and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.” Being a smaller band, we produce a unique, full sound with catchy melodies that could kill and lyrics that will get themselves in and can’t find their way out.

Our band formed in August of 2014, when Luke and Karli’s two piece project was asked to play for Battle of the Bands. We received 1st and 2nd place in both rounds. Since then we have only been moving up. We play through Grand Rapids very regularly, and we’ve been playing all throughout in Michigan and the surrounding states. Everything has moved up so quickly for us. Our band has great momentum and the drive to get things done. We can’t do anything without the love and support from our families, close friends, and fans.

In June 2016, We were named one of the top ten bands to see in Michigan in “The Music Issue” of the Revue.

“If Garbage shared a taxi with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on their way to a Bjork concert, they’d probably be quite happy listening to Lipstick Jodi.” John Sinkevics / Local Spins

“If Taylor Swift fans are looking for a way to get into Metallica, or vice versa, here’s your bridge!” -J Simpson / No More Division

“Pure, unadulterated rock ’n’ roll – the kind that calls for raised fists, and begs to be cranked at dangerously loud volumes through car stereos.”
-Ricky Almos / Local Spins

These boys will hook your attention with their eclectic collection of originals drawing on jazz, pop, electronic, and indie rock influences.
